The dream act is an awesome legislation, my dad was one who sent his application for I-485 and it was received on the 2nd of july. However, due to the July visa fiasco he is stuck like the rest of you guys. My point is rather that I aged out in June 2007 and could not be added with my family, for the month of July. I would receive benefits because this would put me out of status as well...also children of illegals are still children. They are not illegal because they did not choose the right to come here but came without any knowledge. So Please everyone take your time to call your respective senators and email them. it is not wishful thinking ..dumbo ..it is a good idea but it doesnt / wont have much support as community is divided and happy with its ead.
money makes the mare go in this world ..say if the immigration community was united and if we were to lobby with the builders and car dealers who make contribution to the politicians then lot of bills would have passed behind the scenes ..earliar h1-b was for 6 years only ..how did the extension come ..behind the scenes the business lobby worked secretly.
Yeah right!! buying houses is all hunky-dory when you have all cushy jobs and economy is booming. When economy slows down there will be some people who may lose their jobs with 3000$ mortgages sitting on their head!! And that builder /bank who lobbied for you GC will come knocking on your door asking for payment.
And believe there are defaulters among these highly qualified legal immigrants too!
So again, how did you solve the housing slump problem in the first place???

It seems that i can file tax using form 4852....but to do if he send legal notice claiming that i have made losses to him worth 25 K....i had good relation with client , gave app notice and also have refe letter from client (received award form client)..........so there shud be no point for liquidation thing and also i have all previous employers emails acepting my receignation and notice period...

E-filed on May 5th, FP on June 6th, no updates since. Concerned as I'm working on EAD and current one expires August 29th.
Paper filed AP in late June, approved already (as per e-mail) even though I only needed it in mid October!!

realized late that he had the expiry date wrong in his mind. So he has applied and it is > 100 days. They moved the already CPO date from Oct 10 to 29th, stating "lack of printable cards" (learned through info pass).
Imagine he is sitting at home, not working for > 3 months because he did not keep track of his expiry dates.
Because of one negligence, he is losing a lot of salary by not working. :(
The current EAD delays is certainly scary. Hope it is an exception not the norm.:mad:

I said in my earlier post that I will think about it. This is what I have to say.
There are things that can be measured in single dimension say on x-axis. Say you have to buy a car and you have to ask yourself a question � which car do I like to buy? Say you like Honda as compared to other cars. Your likeability of Honda or such cars could be measured on the positive side of the x-axis and likewise, if you don�t like some car, that can be measured on the negative side on the x-axis. Now, there could be another dimension to the situation, say, what is the car model in question, if it is a civic or maybe accord, accord, CRV, Odyssey, Element or whatever. Now if you ask yourself that question again � which car do I like? This time you need two dimensions to answer the question which Honda model you like and which you don�t like. Foe the sake of clarity you can do this on the X&Y-axis. But say if there is a choice of multiple colors. You would have to now think/plot a 3-dimention model, say a cube, because you may like a model of Honda in one color but you may not like the same color in another model. Now there could be other combinations, say which year make or whether it is a sedan/coupe or the cost factor or resale value, mileage, new/old, dealership, goodies, experience of your friends/well-wishers etc. etc. etc. So there could be multiple dimensions analysis to answer a 7 word question - which car do I like to buy?
The reason I say this is, even situations which otherwise seem simple require multiple dimensions of analysis. And there could be many more dimensions that we do not know or we do not understand. But say, you ignore all dimensions to every situation, and judge every situation in a single dimension analysis - whether or not you like something or not? If you don�t like it, that something has to be wrong. If you like it, that something is right. It can be easily identified on the x-axis. Simple, isn�t it. Life would be so much easier; it would be so much fun.
But here is the problem. With single dimension analysis of every situation, we will all be wrong most of the time. Your single dimension analysis of -ve comments situation is, you don't like them and that's why the entire system HAS to be wrong. You see what I am saying.
It�s ok to express in the any forum and if you don�t like a forum, as in this case you don�t like reputation system, you have the choice to totally ignore it and not look at it at all. But you chose to look at the reputation system maybe because you continue to be mindful of your reputation on the anonymous forum, but then you continue to complain about the existense of the red dot system. It�s the choice you make. And then you apply single dimension analysis � if you don�t like a comment, there is something wrong with the guy who posted a negative comment and the reputation system and the IV and everyone around us. And because you are not happy, you think it is ok to curse everyone saying that the entire immigration system cannot be fixed because IV has reputation system. You know, I have to tell you, you are pretty good.
The reason I say all this is, I have fundamental difference with the folks who do not like reputation system but continue to look at it and complain about it, even when they have the choice not to look at the reputation system. The problem doesn�t end there. Every week there is someone complaining about the reputations left for that guy, and I just have an intellectual disagreement with that behavior. And I do not have anything against you or anyone else, I am sure you are a good man with a kind heart.

Good points Sanju we should weigh the +s and the -s of the rep system, however you are missing the core of the complaints. Which is that people giving reds are usually (though not always) doing it as a personal attack (you suck, F*'s etc.), whereas every green that one receives is usually on subject matter (I have not seen a "you stud"!! kind of +ve reps ;) ).
Also, what it wrong for people to complain about the system? If people have the right to give reds, why shouldn't the forum be allowed to complain about it? And if the popular opinion is against it, then the system can be dismantled.
At both ends (the extreme left and the right) it is always "my way or the highway". Neither one recognizes that there are people with different view points, and that everyone should be given an opportunity to air their own views (live a life of their choosing etc.).

There is no definite answer to this question. USCIS is erratic on that. In my opinion, one's case is opened and process starts as soon as the case is Receipt Noticed. In my case, my PD was current since April, but RD was not. As soon as they reached my RD my app was approved. I think that is the general trend. But, they are not consistent on it. Therefore, no definite answer.

EB2 India will move very fast till 01 JAN 06 as because based on June 2007 bulletin, just before the july fiasco,( http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3236.html ) the PD for China is 01 JAN 06. That means in EB2 Category except India and China every other country is current. So till India reaches 01 JAN 06 PD in EB2, all the spill overs will be moved to EB2 India. By the time India EB2 reaches 01 JAN 06, China PD in EB2 will move further from 01 JAN 06 by using its 7% quota. So Inidia PD for EB2 again moves fast till that changed China PD using the spill overs. After that India and China will share the spill overs based on the PD priority. All this happens if and only if the USCIS works effectively and uses all the available visa numbers for the present fiscal year. My prediction for EB2 India PD is it touch 2005 /even cross few months in 2005 by the end of this year if USCIS works effectively.
